Emily Spiers - Marketplace Coordinator and Allied Partner Relations
Emily began working in the innkeeping industry in 2006 as an Assistant Innkeeper at a 12 room Select Registry inn in Ohio. The discovery was made that there was an industry to fit her personality- innkeeping. For over 5 years, she worked alongside some of the most well-respected, knowledgeable innkeepers and learned vital lessons about what makes an innkeeper tick, what drives them, and what matters to them. A passion was born.
In 2010 she began working in membership in an industry association. While working in membership, she also took on the responsibility of working with vendors and expanded her experience to take on the added responsibility of assisting with vendor management for two large national trade shows in addition to regional events.
It was there in the vendor department that she figured out she deeply desired to connect members with innovative, cutting-edge, efficient, and practical vendors. She has since set out on a mission to find those vendors and companies for the benefit of the industry
When she’s not working, you can find her on her own small farm in Ohio’s Amish area alongside her husband of 18 years, and two children, weeding her garden, pruning fruit trees, raising meat birds, bottle feeding calves, laughing at the antics of baby goats, herding turkeys, and breathing deeply the fresh air of rural life. If you can’t find her in any of those situations, have no fear. She’s probably sitting on her back deck with a glass of sweet tea, reading a book on her Kindle.
